WordPress Hosting Mistakes to Avoid and What to Do InsteadHow to Pick a Fast, Secure Host and Set It Up the Right Way
I’ve set up hundreds of WordPress sites, and the early ones taught me some painful lessons. Nearly all of them trace back to the same WordPress hosting mistakes to avoid when you’re choosing where your site lives. Get these right and your host quietly does its job in the background. Get them wrong and you’ll feel it in your speed, your bill, and your sanity.

Good points on renewal pricing and backups. One more mistake I see a lot is treating the hosting account login as less important than the WordPress login. Whoever gets into the hosting or domain account can take over the whole site, so it deserves a unique password and two-factor authentication. Be careful too with “your hosting is about to expire” or “payment failed” emails, which are a common phishing lure for site owners. Check them by logging in to the host directly rather than clicking the link in the email.
