How to Start a 3D Printing Side Business and Blog

#127: How Nikko Mendoza Started an $8,400/mo 3D Printing Side Business (and Blog)

About the Episode:

In today’s episode, we’re talking to Nikko Mendoza, the founder of Nikko Industries, his 3D printing side business that’s earning an average of $8,400/mo today from a combination of revenue sources that include the sales of both printed products and digital files, a Patreon membership group, his online course (3D Printed Profits) and more.

Based out of the San Francisco Bay Area, Nikko holds down a full-time job working for an electrical utility company—where his schedule requires working a few 12-hr shifts in a row, leaving him several days to work on side projects throughout the week.

Nikko’s no stranger to the side hustle but his last business, a fitness boot camp center didn’t quite go as planned, and he ended up closing up shop with about $120,000 in debt after the business wasn’t growing the way he’d hoped.

Fast forward to today, Nikko’s learned a thing or two—and he’s gone from testing his way into his more diversified 3D printing business to now being on track to soon break the six-figure revenue mark.
